Nigerian soups are meant for dipping; enjoy them with Swallow like Fufu, Amala, Eba or Pounded yam, Wheat, Semo, Oat. Nigerian soups are stews made with Pepper, leafy greens, meat or seafood, and spices that provide lots of flavors. No two Nigerian soups have the same flavor, which is one of its finest qualities.
Most Nigerian soups are low carb because they are mostly prepared with vegetables, meat and fish. But some contain starchy ingredients/thickeners : Bitterleaf Soup, Okra Soup and Rivers Native Soup (cocoyam), Nsala Soup (yam), Owho Soup (garri ).
